Food Highlights at Disneyland Paris

It's been a couple of weeks since we returned from Disneyland, so editing these photos was torture. Grant and I are foodies; we love to make, find and experience delicious food wherever we go. Thankfully at Disneyland we were doing near enough 15 hours in the parks each day, with our step counter figures going through the roof, so we allowed ourselves to indulge in any and all treats we came across. We booked one sit down a meal a day in advance (booking opens 60 days in ahead, and is highly recommended for popular restaurants and character meals), however the rest of our dining was completely unplanned. Today I wanted to reflect on some of the gastronomic highlights of our trip.

Disneyland Paris

This time last week Grant and I were sat in Auberge de Cendrillon, a Cinderella themed restaurant tucked behind Sleeping Beauty's castle in Fantasyland, having a decadent lunch with a number of Disney princesses. We've come to the agreement that it was one of the best meals we have ever had as a couple. Disneyland Paris are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, and as such they had a special menu to order from; we had lobster to start, beef and polenta for our main course, and a beautiful blue dessert that tasted of chocolate and hazelnut. As we ate we were visited by Cinderella, a couple of her mice, Belle, Ariel and Aurora. It was all hugs, compliments, pretty dresses and indisputable magic. I even wore an Aurora inspired Disneybound (including crown), which resulted in two little girls at the table beside us asking for a photo with me. It was the ultimate compliment.

What I Bought At Disneyland Paris

On Friday evening we returned from a long overdue holiday to Disneyland Paris. Disneyland is a very special place to Grant and I; it's where he proposed back in 2011, and it's where we honeymooned in 2013. We even had a Disneyland inspired wedding, with the Main Street USA loop playing in the marquee during the reception and framed attraction posters on the tables. When we're there we fully embrace the Disney bubble and become big kids, and this trip was one of our most magical to date. We took thousands of photos which I'm still in the process of editing for blog posts, but for now I thought it would be fun to share the purchases I made during our time in the magic.

Blossom Rain

Last year I went through a phase where I didn't like having my photo taken when I wasn't in costume. When I used to write my personal style blog I became very accustomed to seeing myself looking a certain way in photos, with hip length red hair, beautiful clothes I'd been sent to review, and polished red lipstick. When I decided I wanted to move away from that blog I underwent a lot of personal changes; Briar Rose had become such a concrete part of my identity, and to an extent I'd forgotten who I was once disentangled from it.
